The fast bowler has previously been criticized for his comments on Azam, including saying that fielding him is no different from playing the tail game. The 31-year-old said this ahead of the start of the 2023 Pakistan Super League (PSL).

However, Wahab noted that Amir can speak, especially when his criticism of the Pakistan boss is justified.

“Amir criticized Babar only when he could not take the team to the finish line. It is Amir’s opinion and he has the right to share his opinion,” he told Cricket Pakistan.

“On the other hand, Babar also understands and respects certain opinions and always tries to improve his game. In the end, whoever wins games in Pakistan will be respected.”
